Dragon-Bone Waterwheel

Dragon-Bone Waterwheel
The Dragon-Bone Waterwheel is a farmland irrigation instrument invented by Bi Lan in the Eastern...
In order to weaken the national power of the Qin State, Zheng Guo, an expert on irrigation works, was sent by the Han State to Qin, persuading the king of Qin to start construction on a large-scale irrigation project so as to divert the country's focus on unification. Afterwards the king of Qin discovered the manipulation and decided to kill Zheng Guo. However, the expert said calmly that building the canal might keep the Han State alive for years, but could benefit Qin for a hundred years. The king found the words reasonable and kept Zheng Guo to continue the project. Through efforts of over ten years, the Zhengguo Canal that stretched for 300 miles was finally finished, contributing to the fertile soil in the Guanzhong region. The advanced agriculture in the Qin State later became a strong material support for the unification of China.
