An Ingenious Openwork Carving - Bronze Mirror with Coiled Dragon Design A mirror of the Warring States Period unearthed from the Bashu Boat-Coffin Burial Site in Baolunyuan, Zhaohua, Sichuan in 1954. The bronze mirror consists of a silver mirror and a grooved back frame, on which there is a ring knob and openwork carving of coiled and coupled dragon design. On the fringe of the mirror there carves a circle of grooved diamond patterns. The entire workmanship is complex and exquisitely beautiful. |
