Made in the Qing Dynasty, this plum flower-shaped red sandalwood stool embedded with bamboo threads is 46 centimeters tall and 34 centimeters in diameter of the surface. The stool is designed in the shape of a five-petal plum flower. The sitting surface is flat, with no carving. There are aprons and humpbacked stretchers on the side. The legs have grooves in the middle, in which bamboo threads are embedded. The wasp waist is engraved with white plum flower patterns in relief. With a graceful design, the stool is small and exquisite. The craftsmanship and color application are just to a turn. It is a Suzhou style work of the mid-Qing Dynasty. |
