Vase with Landscape Design
A Celadon-Glazed and Underglaze Blue and Red Wall Vase
Cloisonne Enamel
A Large Blue and White "Flora and Fruit" Bowl |
By Jingdezhen Kiln of the Qing Dynasty The blue and white vase has a flaring mouth, a slightly constricted neck and sloping shoulders. Its vertical body is like a column, or an elephant leg as someone calls. The neck is adorned with four flowers. The landscape scene on its body is inspired by a poem of the Tang Dynasty, which is inscribed in seal script on the upper part of the vase. Fine clay, shining glaze and the integration of brilliant Chinese traditional arts, including poem, calligraphy, painting and seals, are in perfect harmony in this vase. It is a typical piece produced by private kilns in Jingdezhen from the late Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty. |
