Qing Dynasty Created after a bronze ware style, the rectangular-mouthed censer has a cover with an oval knob. The belly and the cover surfaces are carved with halberd and phoenix patterns. There are dragon-shaped ears on both sides of the censer, with the dragon's eyes inlaid with jadeites and rubies. The rim of the censer mouth, the upper rim of the foot, and the dragons'ears are ringed with rubies. The vase has a flat body, a straight mouth and a flat bottom. The shoulders are decorated with carved ring-holding beasts in relief and the neck is engraved with a hornless dragon embedded with rubies in both eyes. The belly is ringed with two lines of rubies, with carved dragons in between. The box is round, with ruby-inlaid patterns of lotus petals raised on top of the cover. The cover and the box are both ringed with a line of rubies. |
