The hairpin is engraved with three peaches and one bat in relief on both sides, with an additional bottle gourd on one side. The leaves are engraved in openwork. The patterns symbolize "fortune and longevity". The head of the hairpin is engraved into the shape of a ruyi-like cloud.

Hairpins are women's hair ornaments for holding coils in place. This hairpin is exquisitely carved, using top-quality jade of a mild green color.
