Qianlong period, Qing Dynasty In the form ora flattened archaic bronze HU, carved in relief with TAOTIE masks on both sides of the lower body amidst archaistic scrollwork between bands of whorls and below a trefoil collar around the shoulder, the waisted neck incised and gilt with an Imperial poem on one side, flanked by a pair of animal-mask loop handles suspending loose rings, the domed cover surmounted by a dragon finial with four loose rings, all raised on a matching stand with lappets and foliate scrolls. |
