Emperor Taizong of Yuan- Ögedei Khan is the second Great Khan of the Mongol Empire.

He was appointed as the successor of the Great Khan in 1219. In 1227, he accompanied Genghis Khan to conquer the Tanguts (Western Xia). In 1229, two years after Genghis Khan's death, he was enthroned as the Great Khan.

Ever since then, he strengthened the state organization and enhanced the authority of the Great Khan. He carried out reforms on the court and law of taxation. Unfortunately, he died unexpectedly due to extravagance and sexual addiction.
