Emperor Wenzong of Yuan-Borjigin Toq-Temür (1304-1332) first ruled between 1328 and 1329 and his second reign started from 1329 to 1332. In all, he ruled for four years.

Brought up in the concentrated area of Han with rich experience in Chinese culture, Wenzong is one of the most competent emperors in Yuan Dynasty. In 1329, he established Kuizhangge Academy in the capital Dadu and assigned Confucian officials to compile Great Statutes to Control the World by introducing history books of the predecessors, evaluating the merits and demerits of the past emperors and mostly learning from the governance of Tang and Song dynasties. A great many of Yuan Dynasty classics had been classified and preserved by then. Besides, he promoted Confucianism by bestowing additional titles to the parents of Confucius and his renowned offsprings as well as offering sacrifice in the south suburb according to Confucian ritual.
