Emperor Taizu of Qing - Aisin-Gioro Nurhaci (1559-1626) is a famous militarist and politician.

Nurhaci was born in a Manchu slave-owner's family in today's Xinbin County of Liaoning Province. In 1583, he unified the Jurchen branches and became the Chieftain of the Jurchens. In 1616, he declared himself the Khan and founded the Jin Dynasty, often called Later Jin.

Nurhaci is the founder and captain of Eight-Banner soldiers.
