Located in Quwo County, Shanxi Province, the Cemetery of Marquises of Jin was the cemetery for early marquises of Jin state during the Western Zhou Dynasty. It was a cemetery for lords and nobles throughout almost the entire Western Zhou period.

Until now, 17 tombs for marquises and their wives in 8 groups, 4 satellite tombs and dozens of sacrificial pits are unearthed and 5 horse and chariot pits are located. Large quantities of luxuriant and delicate burial objects such as jade wares and bronze sacrificial vessels are excavated. The varieties of the magnificently decorated jade wares have topped all others of the Western Zhou period discovered so far.

The Cemetery of Marquises of Jin is one of the most important discoveries among all archeological findings of Western Zhou in the 20th century. It has provided key physical materials for confirming the early fief of Jin state as well as the study on the history of Jin.
