Located in Qinglongshan Town, Naimanqi, Tongliao City of Inner Mongolia, the tomb is the joint-burial tomb of Princess of State Chen of the Liao Dynasty and her husband Xiao Shaoju. The princess was the granddaughter of Emperor Jingzong of Liao and Xiao Shaoju the brother of Emperor Shengzong’s wife, Empress Rende. As a brick tomb with murals, it consists of a rectangular front chamber, two round side chambers and one main chamber, with a total length of 16.4 meters. Both the princess and her husband wear a silver-thread garment, a gold crown, a mask, gilt silver boots and a girdle. There are a large amount of gold and silver wares, wood products, pottery and glassware excavated from the tomb. It is the best-preserved tomb of the Liao Dynasty with the most excavated artifacts so far. |
