Mencius' Mother Cut Threads on the Loom

Mencius' Mother Cut Threads on the Loom
Mencius lost his father at a young age, and his mother attached great importance to his education.
Zong Ze, an old anti-Jin commander, handed his seal to Yue Fei when hovering between life and death. Shortly afterwards, he spit blood and died. Du Chong, an acting commander authorized by the emperor, tried to elbow Yue Fei out. Depressed, Yue Fei went home to visit his mother without asking for a leave. His mother told him what he should do and asked him to get back to the barracks to continue fighting the Jin troops. She also tattooed the four characters of "jing zhong bao guo" (serve the country with the utmost loyalty) across Yue Fei's back as an encouragement.
