Legend has it that long long ago, there were three beautiful fairies living on the lakeside of the Heavenly Lake in Changbai Mountain. The eldest named Dakulun, the second Erkulun, and the youngest Fokulun. One day, Fokulun was bathing in the Heavenly Lake when suddenly a colorful bird was flying to her. As she was holding the bird on her palm and about to show it to her sisters, the red fruit holding in the bird's mouth dropped into Fokulun's mouth and rolled all the way down in her belly. Unexpectedly, Fokulun thus conceived a baby. She could not return to the Heaven and had to remain in the secular world. Thirteen months later, the child was born and named Bukuliyongshun. He was said to be the very ancestor of the Manchu.
