Kangxi period, Qing Dynasty
Length: 34cm
Width: 20cm

The rectangular box is lacquered all over in black, and decorated with bone inlays. The theme of the decoration on the cover is "getting promoted and receiving a higher ranking title". The upper section is the picture of a fisherman in a boat; and the middle section captures the glorious moment when a senior official has newly been promoted. He is walking under a canopy held by his aide, and two other aides are walking in front, holding royal gifts.
