The semicircular earring has multiple segments and a movable opening, where there's a spring connecting the gold hook. When worn, the gold hook gets through the hole on the earlobe, forming a ring with the rest part of the earring, which is made of gold, covered with kingfisher feathers and inlaid with seed pearls. The front of the earring is adorned with a gold filigree knot like coiling intestines and inlaid with small coral beads, with a big eastern pearl in the middle.
