Middle Qing Dynasty The case is made of a silver base, on which frames are created with thick silver thread and the frames are adorned with patterns formed with thin or tiny silver threads. The edge of the lid is composed of eight segments of patterns, including curling grass patterns and eight-petal chrysanthemum flowers, which are made with silver threads. And the compartments formed by the threads are filled with green transparent hard enamel. The lower layer is adorned with curling grass patterns and the top layer is adorned with eight-petal chrysanthemum flowers and curling grass patterns. The leaves are filled with blue and green transparent enamels. The base of the case is round. This work of art involves complex techniques combining silver threads pattern forming and transparent enamel filling. It's a rare treasure of ornamental articles displayed in the Qing Dynasty court. |
