Qing Dynasty The pot is in the shape of a Chinese crabapple flower, with the edge carved with gilt copper patterns of banana leaves and bats symbolizing fortune and longevity. The outer surface of the pot is decorated with enamel-embedded silver filigree work in the shape of peach branches. In the middle of each side of the pot, there's a polished area in the same shape as the surface, and it is decorated with patterns of peach trees and unicorns or phoenix with wings stretching out. The landscape features nine blooming peonies carved out of white jade, rose quartz and bee wax. The graceful and natural flowers are set off by dark green jade leaves on branches of red coral. |
