Altar of the Land and Grain |
Shuxiang, as the name suggests itself, refers to the fragrance of the rice. In the past, the Garden was surrounded by farmland. When the harvest season comes, the fresh fragrance of the new rice will find its way to the garden and make visitors intoxicated, hence the name of the hall. As the main building in the eastern garden, the Shuxiang Hall faces water in the front and is located against a hill in the rear. The hall is spacious and bright inside. There are 48 boxwood carvings on the long window panel. The carvings, with elaborate engraving and multiple layers, are vivid and lifelike, which decorated the Shuxiang Hall with an appealing look of elegance. |
