Surrounded by water on three sides, the tower is nestled in mountains on two sides. You can access its ground floor through the flat corridor bridge from the west. To enjoy the grander view, you can go to a higher storey by climbing the sloping gallery or the stone steps on the artificial hill. The tower is of the style of the folk-house in the south of the Yangtze River. The tower has double-eave and round ridge saddle roof with slight sloping. The whole construction keeps a simple and primitive style with pink walls and black tiles. The windows upstairs are inlaid with transparent tiles, which follow the traditional style of simplicity and elegance. The tower is tall and spacious, providing you the opportunity to view the wonderful scene in the garden. In the past there was no tall building in the urban area of Suzhou, so the visitors then could view the suburban scenery after climbing up the tower.
