In the third year during the reign of Yuan’guang in Han Dynasty (132 B.C.), Emperor Wu determined to repair the Huzi breach of the Yellow River, and sent Ji Ren and Guo Chang to lead tens of thousands of people to close the breach. According to Records of the Grand Historian, the Emperor commanded personally at site and was praised by people in the history. In the fourth year during the reign of Yuanding (112 B.C.), when Emperor Wu was sacrificing the God of Land at east Yellow River, he struck off the Ode to Autumn Wind on a dragon boat. Then a Qiufeng Tower (Autumn Wind Tower) was built by later generation according to the meaning of the ode. |
