Unearthed from an Eastern Han-Dynasty tomb in Changsha of Hunan Province, this is a red-based pottery figurine featuring a mother breast-feeding her baby. With a hair coil, the mother has a scarf draped over her shoulders, wearing a cross-collared dress with narrow sleeves. The vivid and calm figurine is a typical image of an ordinary woman at that time.
