With a total area of 71.5 hectares, the Palace and Ancestral Temple Site is an integral part and the most important site of Yin Ruins, where distributes a large number of oracle bone storage pits. Ever since the discovery of oracle bone inscriptions in the 19th century, the total number of unearthed oracle bones has reached about 15,000 pieces. Among the pits, the famous Fu Hao Mausoleum is one of the most important archaeological discoveries within the site and the only royal mausoleum of Shang Dynasty with definite year of construction, owner and identity reflected on the oracle bones discovered by far. |
