Established in 1987 with a land area of over 100 mu, the Museum of Yin Ruins was designed by famous ancient building experts strictly based on the original sites. The gate of the museum is made of wooden columns and beams engraved with Shang patterns according to the grapheme of Chinese character- “ÃÅ“ (gate) in oracle bone inscriptions. On each side of the gate there is a loong in relief in Yin style. Double eaves, thatched roof, rammed-earth steps and loong-patterned eave columns are adopted for each building in the museum, exhibiting the layout and architectural style of Shang palace. Among them, the recovered Yin-style hall is magnificent, simple and dignified, which partly reproduces the splendid scenery of the “First Ancient Capital in China“. An oracle bone inscription stele forest is also built in the museum filled with carvings of Yin-style stone men, elephants, birds and loongs. |
