This is the image of a slave, featuring a face similar to that of a monkey, wide forehead, garlic-like nose and small mouth. Around the top of the head is the short hair and its face is that of a typical oriental people. Two hands holding the knees and two arms bending slightly inwards, it is the standard sitting posture in China before the appearance of the high seats. The figure seems quite submissive and reverent, which vividly show the slaves’ awe for their masters. |
