On August 26 of 1836, the sixteenth year of Emperor Daoguang's reign, the three halls of the Old Summer Palace were started to be rebuilt. The project was finished the next year, for which Emperor Daoguang wrote down Note on Rebuilding the Three Halls of the Old Summer Palace.
