Liubo was also one of the factors leading to the "Rebellion of Seven Feudal States" during the reign of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty. Emperor Jing was fond of playing liubo game when he was the crown prince. During a game with the son of Liu Bi (the King of the Wu State), he hurled the chess board at the latter after a row. Liu Bi's son died as a result. From then on, Liu Bi bore a grudge against Emperor Jing. In the third year after Emperor Jing's enthronement, Liu Bi, together with kings of the Chu and Zhao States etc, launched an armed rebellion. |
