The city wall of Xi’an is one of the ancient city walls well-preserved in China. The extant city wall of Xi’an was first built in early Ming Dynasty(1368-1644) and was renovated in recent years. The city wall is 12 to 15 meters high and 12 to 14 meters wide at the top. Its circumsference is 14.6 kilometers, enclosing an area of 3.5 square kilometer. Outside the city wall is a moat, which has now been opened as a round-city park.
