The Ruins of Banpo
At Banpo Village in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an,there is a fairly complete village ruin of the matriarchal society, important representative of the Yangshao Culture in the New Stone Age about 6,000 years ago. A great number of colored pottery products were unearthed from this site, and they fully reflect the level of production and the value of art at the time. The site of ruins is divided into residential area burial area and pottery-making area. The existing area is about 50,000 square meters.
