Opposite to the urban area of Xiamen, Gulang Island covering an area of 1.91 square kilometers is one of the largest satellite islands of Xiamen and enjoys the reputation of "Garden on the Sea". Longtou Mountain, Shengqi Mountain and Jimu Mountain stand in parallel on the island. The blue waves, white clouds and green trees add radiance and beauty to each other. An impression of quietness and cleanness can be found everywhere. Many buildings of various architectural styles at home and abroad are well preserved on the small island, winning the reputation of "Architecture Expo". The small island has a population around 20,000 who love music as indicated by the leading piano ownership percentage in the whole country. Thus, the small island is known as "Piano Island".
