Yuzui is a water diversion project on the Dujiangyan Dam named after its shape. It stands high in the middle reaches of the Minjiang River, dividing the river into two parts – the inner part and the outer part. The outer river in the west is called "Jinma River", which is the mainstream with the major function of flood control; the one along the hill foot in the east is the inner river mainly used as artificial watercourse for irrigation purpose.
