Erwang (two kings) Temple is constructed in order to commemorate the Sheriff Li Bing and his son in the Qin Dynasty, who built the Dujiangyan Dam. On the eastern bank of the Dujiangyan Dam distributes architectural complex magnificent in scale with precise layout and serene environment, which is a famous scenic spot featuring a combination of temples and gardens. The Erwang Temple is separated into two sections, the eastern section being gardens and the western temple area. The whole temple is in wooden Chuandou structure relying upon existing natural geography and de-emphasizing the axial symmetry in architectural style. Overlapped and staggered in upper and lower structure, the construction is truly magnificent embraced by serenity. |
