Xlling Seal Engraving Society

This is the name of both a society and a garden. The Xiling Seal Engraving Society is a famous academic society for the study of seal making founded in the early 20th century. Because of this society, Hangzhou is known as the "seal city." The Cypress Hall in the garden was built during the period of Southern Dynasties, and the Bamboo Pavilion, built by the poet Bai Juyi.

West Lake in Hangzhou

Located in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, the West Lake is also known as Qiantanghu Lake in ancient times and as "Xizi Lake" and "Wulin Water" currently. It was formed under the effect of silt deposition in the Qiantang River.
